The Eintracht keeper is one of this year’s candidates for the Trophée Machine.

Great honor for Kevin Trapp! The Eintracht Frankfurt national keeper has recommended himself for the group of candidates for the Trophée Machine with his performances in the calendar year to date. The election, which has been carried out by the French magazine France Football since 2019, is the counterpart to the Ballon d’Or, which selects the world footballer.

From the group of ten candidates, a specialist journalist from each country awards their three favorites five, three, or one point. The player with the highest total wins. In the event of a tie, the number of first places decides.

The prize is named after the former world-class goalkeeper Lev Ivanovich Yashin, who, among other things, became European champion in 1960 with the then Soviet Union.

The first prize winner in 2019 was Alisson from Liverpool FC, in 2020 the election was canceled due to the corona interruption, last year Gianluigi Donnaruma – formerly AC Milan, now Paris Saint-Germain – won the award.
