Eintracht Frankfurt and Juventus Football Club have reached an agreement on an immediate transfer of Filip Kostic. The contract of the midfielder in Main would have expired at the end of the 2022/23 season.

The 29-year-old is leaving Hessen after almost four years with the eagle on his chest, after moving to Frankfurt on loan from Hamburger SV in 2018 and then permanently in 2019. Since then, Kostic has contributed 33 goals and 64 assists in 172 appearances across all competitions. The Serbian international was considered a solid pillar of the team, which in recent years has finished seventh, ninth, fifth, and eleventh in the Bundesliga and has reached the semi-finals in 2019 in the UEFA Europa League and the 2020 DFB Cup.

The development of Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and last but not least winning the Europa League will always be linked to Filip Kostic.

The coronation took place on May 18, 2022, with Eintracht Frankfurt’s first European Cup victory in 42 years. On the way to a German club’s first ever Europa League title, Kostic scored two goals and an assist in a 3-2 win in the second leg of the quarter-finals at FC Barcelona at Camp Nou The way to extra time and the successful penalty shoot-out paved the way.

Sport director Markus Krösche says: “The development of Eintracht Frankfurt in recent years and not least winning the Europa League will always be linked to Filip Kostic. Because of his great merits and impeccable conduct, as well as the contract that expires next year, the joint agreement is a mutually satisfactory solution. To a certain extent, it is always a tribute to the work of the entire club when a player arouses the interest of the international elite.”
